This policy sets out what you must not do when you use SIM.AI. It applies to our clients, their staff and speakers, and anyone else who uses the services or the attendee pages. It forms part of our terms of service.
Most events never come near these limits. The policy exists to protect speakers, guests, our clients and our team.
Prohibited uses
You must not use SIM.AI, or allow it to be used, to do any of the following.
Unlawful or harmful content
- Process, interpret or broadcast content that is unlawful in the United Arab Emirates or in the place where the event takes place.
- Promote violence, terrorism, hatred or discrimination against any person or group.
- Share content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade marks or other rights.
- Distribute sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children.
Harassment and abuse
- Harass, threaten, bully, defame or intimidate any person.
- Target speakers or guests with abusive messages through any part of the service.
Recording and privacy
- Record speakers or sessions without the consent or notice the law requires.
- Use the services to collect personal data about guests or speakers without a lawful basis.
- Process sensitive personal data, such as health information, without a lawful basis and the safeguards the law requires.
Security
- Try to gain unauthorised access to the platform, another client’s sessions, or any connected system or account.
- Share session PINs or links with people who are not meant to have them, where a session is private.
- Probe, scan or test the platform for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
- Interfere with the platform, for example with malware, denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests.
- Copy, reverse engineer or extract the platform’s software, voices or models, except as the law expressly allows.
Misleading content
- Use a glossary or other settings to insert false, misleading or offensive content into interpretations or captions, or to make a speaker appear to say something they did not say.
- Present machine interpretation as human interpretation, or as a certified translation.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with them.
High-stakes decisions
- Use interpretations, captions or transcripts to make decisions with legal, medical, financial or similarly significant effects on people without proper human review.
- Rely on machine interpretation as the sole means of communication where an error could cause serious harm. For legally binding proceedings, medical consent, sensitive negotiations and similar situations, use certified human interpreters, which Sim Trans provides. Our responsible AI statement explains why.
Reporting a concern
If you believe SIM.AI is being misused, please tell us at ai@sim-trans.com. Include the event or session details and what you observed. We treat reports confidentially.
How we enforce this policy
If we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, we may, depending on how serious the breach is:
- contact the client to ask for the issue to be fixed;
- remove or disable the content concerned, including a glossary entry;
- pause or stop a live session, or suspend the services;
- end the agreement under our terms of service;
- report the matter to the relevant authorities where the law requires or allows.
Where practicable, we will talk to the client before acting. If there is an immediate risk to people, to the platform or to the law being broken, we may act first and explain afterwards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
